We prioritise UK growers and have lots of long-term relationships with local suppliers, but we also rescue fruit and veg from abroad to help keep our boxes varied throughout the year. This is mostly in winter and early spring when 'staples' like root veg and greens are available here, which would mean boxes becoming a bit same-y.
Don’t worry – we have a strict no-air-miles policy, so anything we rescue from abroad will have arrived by road or sea. We also only rescue produce if it’s genuinely at risk of going to waste. So you won’t ever find a pineapple in your box just for the sake of variety – only if a supplier has told us they have produce that's “too odd” or “too many”.
