We're proud to say that most of our boxes don't contain any plastic.
The excessive use of plastic is a huge challenge for our planet, which is why we work with our growers to avoid it wherever possible.
Sometimes surplus is already packed for supermarkets in mind. If it's in danger of going to waste, we're happy to give it a home. Because if we didn't, both - the food and the plastic - would go to waste.
We may also accept plastic packaging in our boxes is if it is necessary to make sure your produce arrives fresh to your door. While plastic pollution is something we take very seriously, reducing food waste is one of the biggest ways to fight climate change and our main goal at Oddbox. As such we are happy to wrap up some lettuce if it means it doesn't get wasted.
If you would like to learn more about the plastic in our boxes, you can read more on our blog at The complicated truth about plastic
In cases where we're expecting bad weather we may also wrap your box in sugar cane bags to keep your box and its produce safe for you. These bags are carbon neutral, as the carbon dioxide taken from the atmosphere in the sugar cane growing process, offsets the carbon dioxide emitted through production and transport.
